Who We Are

Hand on Heart Charity has a simple goal; to prevent the deaths of the 12 young people who die due to a sudden cardiac arrest each week.

Having operated as a campaign since March 2010, Hand on Heart became a fully registered charity (#1145316) in January 2012 and is more committed than ever to reducing the number of deaths of young people due to sudden cardiac arrest.

Since January 2011 Hand on Heart has placed over 70 fully and partially funded defibrillator packages, (an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), CPR training for staff and pupils and training accessories) to schools across the UK. For each of those schools we also trained 560 school staff to use defibrillators and educate 30 children per school on basic life support.

Our goal now, is to continue to educate schools the importance of having a defibrillator on their premises.

Schools if they wish can fundraise and purchase their own defibrillator, with funds coming from school fundraising, donors, sponsorship or even existing school funds. Purchasing these through Hand on Heart will enable the school to purchase these as a discounted rate, courtsey of Hand on Heart.

We also receive nominations from companies and other organisation that want to purchase a defibrillator package on behalf on a school within their area.

To see exactly where your money is going you can visit our website, or find us on Facebook, Twitter or Linked In, to see project updates, schools receiving their defibrillators and find out where defibrillators are going next.

Our Just Giving page – www.justgiving.com/handonheart - will also show you who else is donating and fundraising for us, which schools are involved and how close we are to reaching our target.
