Following a very touching heart felt assembly back in September 2018 by Hand on Heart volunteer Sue, about the effects of suffering a cardiac arrest and the difference a defibrillator can make, the students of Kings set about various fundraisers to support us. From sponsored events, half marathons, climbing Snowden to bake and cake sales the students have raised a staggering £6795.43.
Their support along with donations from many others including Redrow Homes and the Congleton Christmas Collection have made 12 schools in the Macclesfield area to become heart safe and receive a fully funded defibrillator and training package.
96 school staff will learn how to use a defibrillator.420 students will learn basic life support skills and collectively more than 3,000 hearts will be protected daily should anyone suffer from a cardiac arrest whilst on schools grounds.
Our sincere thanks to everyone involved.
