Lisbon Marathon is considered to be one of the most beautiful races in the world.
Starting in Cascais and finishing at Praça do Comércio, the marathon course is 100% sea and river side, providing the runners a very unique view whilst running along the race.
The marathon attracts some the world’s top elite athletes as well as thousands of foreigner runners from all over the world. For 2018 this also included Hand on Heart volunteer fundraiser Anna Russell, who was running the race in memory of her cousin Christopher, who died of a cardiac arrest in 2016, aged only 19.
We are so pleased with Anna’s efforts as she has to date raised an amazing £2,200 for Hand on Heart, which will go towards making two schools heart safe this week.
Rokseley Junior school and Marion Richardson School both based in London will take possession of their lifesaving defibs and are looking forward to receiving their training in the coming weeks ahead.
Congratulations to Anna for her efforts and for her support to Hand on Heart.
