To keep children safe and prevent the deaths of 12 young people who die of sudden cardiac arrest each week in the UK.
12 - 16 young people die every week in the UK from sudden cardiac arrest, 80% of the victims will have no prior symptoms.
270 of those will die at school, a place we all consider to be a safe environment for our most precious gifts... our children
Another successful awards evening with 15 worthy winners receiving trophies.
Our awards evening which was held on 3rd November is one of celebration as we recognise outstanding individuals and organisations who have found the time, energy and resources to become life savers and to create Heart Safe environments for their workplace and communities.
Our vision – that all educational establishments and community facilities for children’s activities have defibrillators in place, are confident to manage a health emergency and that deaths from sudden cardiac arrest are prevented.
If a defibrillator and effective CPR
is performed within 3-5 minutes,
survival chances increase
from 6% to 74%
