Hand on Heart Announces Salford as a Heart Safe City
Hand on Heart is incredibly happy to announce that Salford is now officially the first Heart Safe city in the UK!
Trafford Campaign Update
We have recently experienced some fantastic developments with our Trafford Campaign whereby the former Mayor of Trafford Councillor Dylan Butt has presented us with a cheque for £24,600 to help us create more Heart Safe environments in the city of Trafford.
Department for Education Help Schools Become Equipped with Life-Saving Defibrillators
This morning the Department for Education announced a deal for schools to purchase life-saving defibrillators to have on their premises at a reduced rate.
This new scheme will hopefully allow schools to become equipped with a life-saving device, which is the only definitive treatment against Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).
13 Cumbrian Schools made Heart Safe Through Hand on Heart and Big Lottery Fund
Since winning an incredible £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund, we can now proudly say that we have been able to create 13 Heart Safe schools in the Cumbria area by funding life-saving equipment for them to have accessible on their grounds.
Girl just 15 years old Suffers SCA During Football Match
Earlier this week, Melissa Smith a 15 year-old girl from Lancashire collapsed and died following a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) whilst playing in her local team Cadley FC. Despite CPR and a defibrillator being used at the scene of her collapse, she was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by an ambulance where she was then pronounced dead.
